Tricia Hayes, director general for roads, devolution and motoring at the DfT, was made a Companion of the Order of the Bath. Ms Hayes took over the job in 2016 and was tasked with a new, specific devolution brief. She is honoured after overseeing the creation of sub-national transport bodies, which now cover most of the country and provide a new foundation for regional strategies.
