A very personable character, she often speaks at industry events and has brought a down to earth, open approach to her work with local officers and professional bodies. She once told Transport Network that one of the benefits of forming an STB is it 'keeps government honest', allowing local government in a region to hold Whitehall to account on its local transport plans.
